Raffy's Shapes and my lame stories.

Jul 24, 2010

I have taken to reading since I got back. Not that I don't read before this, I just haven't done much reading for the past two years. My mom doesn't think so, though. Must be the pile of books I brought back. But then, I haven't fully absorb the plots at all, so I'm rereading them. :)

Raffy's Shapes is the book I am currently reading now. It's a story about Raphaella and the people around her, and how she has an impact on them in the past as well as in the present. The story has a surprisingly bloody ending - something I had not expected from the book. So yes, I have read this book before, and I am rereading it again.

The author, Tamar Hodes, is actually Mrs Nicholls. Another nice surprise. :) However, if I stop to think about it, perhaps not so surprising. I'm honored she read my stories at all, and find them fascinating. I can't say the same for my own stories though. I find writing them an outlet of my negative thoughts. I don't write much nowadays, and I suspect it's because Twitter has became that outlet of negative thoughts now. :)

The last time I write a story was...five months ago? I don't really have any fresh ideas at the moment. There will be those times when I thought, "Right, I've just got this fantastic idea," and I sat down at my table, but the idea leads nowhere. I think I need exam conditions to egg me on *laughs*

OK, this is lame. I've just Googled BGCE English O Level past papers. I think I'm wayyy past the curing stage now. Desperate, almost. I'll finish up Raffy's Shapes before I start writing, though.

I hope I haven't lost my touch.
